“FUTURE OF AERIAL CINEMATOGRAPHY”
“Your Film. Our Innovation.”
“Cinematic Vision Rising”

“What is it that allows us to dream? To feel?
Every flicker of light reflects the world around us and makes us who we are.
Our minds will not compromise, but keep on wandering, looking for the images that reach our hearts.
The eternal tension between the creator and his creation is what gives us the desire to strive for perfection in all that we do.“
EDIT 10: Some content removed at the request of DJI..
EDIT 9: Looks like the Zenmuse x7 is a Super 35 camera with max aperture of f / 2.8. Appears to have the option of interchangeable lenses too judging by the lens lock mark and release button on the side.
6K RAW, and 5.2 K in Apple ProRes 4, it should fit an APS-C sensor 3.91 um, 14 f-stops
EDIT 8: The newly leaked ( well posted in error by DJI ) video that shows the X7 brings the illustration widely mocked by many back into play as it was scarily accurate..
EDIT 7: Given that we now have two different images of two different cameras, the most recent definitely being the X7, the question is, what is the one posted yesterday? X6?
EDIT 6: VIDEO – Go to 1 minute 9 seconds on the first video to see the X7 on the Inspire 2.
EDIT 5: Screen caps form a DJI promo video for the new Zenmuse X7.. It’s here and real.. APS-C Sensor?
EDIT 4: Well here is the Zenmuse X7. Hoping for and Osmo 2 but this will do my Inspire 2 well 🙂
EDIT 3: Just for the giggles, lets bring these concept images back into play shall we 🙂 -35mm anyone..
EDIT 2: DJI have already put in an FCC for a Zenmuse X7 with a date of September 6th 2017.
EDIT 1: It’s also interesting that the video has been shot in 21:9 Cinema Aspect Ratio and almost all the shots are in very bright conditions or in the case of the theatre curtains opening, very flack parts.. This suggests a camera with great dynamic range and large sensor..
Today DJI released a new video ( see bottom of page ) as a teaser for new product(s) they will be announcing on the 11th October 2017. In true DJI fashion, the video is as cryptic as they can make it. Titled “DJI — Reflections — Oct 11, 2017” the video starts as usual with DJI’s logon on a black background…
and fades in to a man walking on the side of a cliff with the camera, seemingly hand held, flowing him narrated by a woman;
“What is it that allows us to dream?”
It quickly cuts to two men on motorcycles. The man in the foreground has the camera floating near his face…..
The next cut is to a view from the back of a stage showing curtains opening in-front of a group of musicians. The narrating woman continues as it cuts to the next scene;
“To Fear”
The camera follows off of a cliff edge with the dramatic view of a hillside and winding road in the background.
“Too Feel”
Again the camera cuts, this time to a man on a skateboard….
by a motorcyclist
“Every flicker of lights reflects the world around us…”
narrates the woman.
As the woman says “Flick of light” the camera ( on a drone ) moves around sculptures of horses on top of a building with the sun behind them.
then instantly cuts to a woman walking into a sun lit entrance hall.
“And makes us who we are”
Shows a high view of the same woman sitting in a theatre chair with only a spotlight on her..
The woman is likley watching the conductor and his orchestra playing.
to the otherwise empty theatre.
More motorcycles. This time being tracked quickly through a wooded dusty track.
“Our minds…..”
“Will not…..”
“Compromise..”
“But keep on wandering. Looking…”
“For the images”
“That reach our….”
“Hearts”
No DJI teaser would be complete without a stunning shot of the ocean waves.
And dramatic scenery.
And a bridge.
“The eternal tension…”
The shot of the two cars passing each other is interesting as if you look carefully, you can see two guys sitting on the ground filming them with a hand held camera.
It’s not possible to tell exactly what the cameras are, but they look like but from the shadow of the lower one, it looks quite squareish. Similar to a Hasselblad A5D in shape ( not size ). Could DJI have made a small one of these with an integrated gimbal? We know they have a large stake in the Hasselblad company and as yet we have not see an actual Hasselblad/DJI hybrid camera.
If you look at image 3 and 6 above, the reflections in the men’s glasses do show a square object with a circular lend.
“Between the creator”
“And his creation”
“Is what gives us the desire….”
And we go full circle back the guy at the beginning, this time looking over the cliff.
“to strive for perfection. In all that we do”
The final shots are of the lens of a camera. From looking at it, it;s definitely not a Phantom or Mavic camera, more like the X5S lens or even date I say, the Hasselblad A5D type lens.
Last we see is the DJI logo and the date, October 11, 2017…
As it fades to the DJI logo and date only with a black background.
My theory is that DJI will launch a new camera, maybe called the X6S or X7S ( or they could surprise us with a completely new name not related to the Zenmuse range ). At the same time an Osmo 2 handle will be launched.

agree with the theory . . . I’m betting the X7S (3-5-7 seems to logical, maybe the even is the numbers they use for engineer test/beta, etc…)
