DJI gave us a peek at the Crystalsky screens at the end of 2016 and since then news has been non-existent. But not, new FCC registrations show the device being certified for use in the US. This normally points to the device being available very soon.
What is the DJI Crystal Sky I hear some say.. Well, Crystalsky is the name DJI have given to an external monitor to be used with its drones. It will be a 7.85 inch touch screen with five to six hours run time and 2000 nits of brightness. It will be geared towards professional use ( and it’s price will likely reflect this ) but to be made comparable with DJI’s Phantom 4 range ( and 3 I think ) of consumer drones.
From the FCC we can confirm the size, 7.85 Inch and the model number of CS785. The model number can imply that a different size one will be available at some time. We also know the battery spec of LiPo 3.7V 1000mAh
Worth noting, the DJI goggles have been listed on the FCC cert database since the 21st February and still no word. Might be in April before we actually can buy them. Watch this space, I will have my order in as soon as possible and a review made.
